Why Restaurant Thir13en? Restaurant THIR13EN is the second restaurant opened and run by Chef/Owner Adam Pechal, who has been working in the culinary field for more than half his life and was recently a contestant on ABC’s ‘The Taste’. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York, Chef Pechal has trained and worked for such renowned chefs as Mark Miller and Thomas Keller. Adam opened Tuli Bistro in 2007 to rave reviews and it is still a favorite among local diners for its innovative menus which include locally grown and organic ingredients. Tonight is our 36th SacTweetup, and the first one of 2013! We are so excited you’re going to be celebrating with us at LowBrau Bierhall in midtown!

I wanted to send this quick email to make sure that you have a great time, so we created some helpful tips for you below:

1. Know what to expect
The original purpose of the SacTweetup was to get people off the computer and social media sites to connect them in person, to meet new friends and deepen relationships.

We like to call it 2 Parts Social, 1 Part Business.  The SacTweetup is not a stuffy business mixer and isn’t just all about passing out business cards. Although that happens, but mainly people come to the SacTweetup because they’re passionate about their community, interested in digital media, and want to connect with local online influencers.

2. Get your name tag
We want to know who you are. When you come to the SacTweetup, stop at the registration table and pick up a name tag. Put your name & username on it (@username) - and if you’re not on twitter yet, don’t worry about it.

3. Be Ready to Tweet and Win!
We’ve got some really cool raffle prizes tonight like Ski Lift tickets at Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort and dinners at Pizza Rock on K Street! Make sure to stick around for the Live Tweet Raffle. This is a TON of fun and a great way to learn how to use Twitter in about 10 minutes.

4. Thank & follow the Hosts

As 2012 comes to an end we want to make sure that the last SacTweetup of the year is a BIG one! This month, we’ll be at the Downtown Plaza! We thought this would be a great location for the season, as folks are doing a lot of last minute holiday shopping, and holiday parties are in full swing.

Sacramento’s favorite social media mixer is bigger and better this month, as SacTweetup has partnered with California Downtown Partnership (CDA)! Also joining us will be young professionals from Metro EDGE! The CDA is hosting its Annual Conference October 29-31 and the Tweetup will help to kick things off with a bang! This Tweetup will be a great opportunity to share with California’s downtown and district leaders about how Sacramento leads the state when it comes to Tweetups and the powerful tool social media serves to engage locals and businesses.
